We offer several appointment types to meet your needs, whether you are new to DSS, updating your accommodations, or checking in with our staff. Review the options below to see which appointment type best matches your situation.
These options are available to select in the Accommodate Portal when requesting a new appointment.

Accommodation Intake Appointment
This type of appointment occurs after a student has registered with the DSS office and provided sufficient documentation relating to their accommodation request.
The appointment type and duration that you will be guided to request will be the "Temporary Accommodation Meeting" after an initial connection with a DSS Counselor.
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss specific accommodations based on the needs and lived experiences of the student. Each plan is individualized, and accommodations are determined on a case-by-case basis.

Accommodation Review/Change Appointment
If you are a registered DSS student and you:
- Believe there might be additional accommodations that could benefit you
- Believe there are unused or unnecessary accommodations that
- Have an additional diagnosis or modification to your disability
First, you will submit an Accommodation Change Request via the Portal. To learn more about this process, please see our Changes to Accommodations page.
Second, the appointment type and duration that you will be guided to request will be the "Accommodation Review/Change" after an initial connection with a DSS Counselor.
Temporary Accommodation Meeting
If you have suffered a concussion, injury, developed an illness or require a scheduled medical procedure that will require temporary accommodations, you or someone on your behalf (i.e. Student Health Services, athletic trainer/coach) need to contact DSS to begin the process.
If you are an already registered DSS student, follow the steps above for "Accommodation Change/Review."
If you are not a DSS student, follow the steps above for "Initial Accommodation Intake Appointment."
The appointment type that you will be guided to request will be the "Temporary Accommodation Meeting" after an initial connection with a DSS Counselor.
